Betsy Weaver, Ed.D.

CEO, President and Co-Founder

Betsy Weaver is the Co-Founder, CEO and President of TPR Media LLC (d.b.a, UbiCare). TPR is an innovative, profitable, national healthcare content provider and media-service company providing Internet-based healthcare communication solutions through its unique, proprietary platform.

Prior to TPR Media/UbiCare, Weaver was a founder and leader of the regional parenting information niche industry. She launched and published the nationally acclaimed, award-winning The Boston Parents’ Paper—one of the top three regional parenting information publishing companies sold to United Parenting Publications. She also founded the award-winning family websites ParentingQ&A.com and LocalMom.com, and acquired TheCyberMom.com. ParentingQ&A.com was the web content provider for the General Mills’ Cheerios site, as well as for SmarterKids.com.

Weaver holds a master’s in Education and a doctorate in Social Policy and Trend Analysis from Harvard University, as well as a master’s from Bank Street College of Education. She earned her BA from Lake Forest College. As the CEO of a new media services company, publisher of leading niche publications, and accomplished businesswoman, she speaks frequently on work and business in electronic media.

Chris Turner, M. Eng

Chief Technology Officer

Chris Turner joined UbiCare in 2010 as Advising CTO and New Product Developer to create and launch UbiCare’s social media platform. Since then he has assumed leadership of all of UbiCare’s technical development efforts. Prior to joining UbiCare, he spent 15 years writing software/firmware and developing cutting edge products with and for various start-up enterprises.

In 2001, Turner co-founded Granite Peak Technologies Inc., a two-person engineering firm focused on new product development. He has led numerous projects for clients and his work encompasses software, firmware and hardware development.

Prior to Granite Peak, Turner was Project Manager and Senior Engineer for NeuroMetrix, Inc., where he was the first engineer hired at this MIT-affiliated medical device startup. At NeuroMetrix, he developed an FDA-approved handheld portable electrodiagnostic instrument. He was also responsible for design, from concept through manufacturing and sale, of thousands of devices. He managed several other engineers and was responsible for analog design, high voltage design, low-power design, firmware in C and assembly, PCB layout and oversight of contract manufacturers.

He holds a BS and a M.Eng in EECS from MIT and was a key member of the group that invented E Ink (used in Amazon.com's Kindle™).

Bill Lindsay

Executive VP of Content / UI / Product

Bill Lindsay joined UbiCare in 2010. Prior to that, he spent more than two decades leading editorial operations for targeted, multi-platform media ventures. He has a depth of experience creating high-quality, engaging content in a variety of subject areas, including health, education, parenting and life-stage issues.

Throughout his career, Lindsay has directed many print and digital product launches and brand extensions. He has led local and nationwide teams of writers, editors and designers in creating award-winning editorial products, and played key roles in C-level strategic planning, budgetary management and interdepartmental leadership. He has been a featured speaker at industry events and twice served on the board of directors of the Parenting Publications of America. He worked with Betsy Weaver, Marion Joyce and Deirdre Wilson in previous companies throughout the 1990s.

Lindsay earned a BA in history and journalism from the University of Richmond and is a former fellow of the American Press Institute and the Casey Journalism Center for Children and Families at the University of Maryland.

Debra Zalvan, MBA

Executive VP of Marketing

Debra Zalvan focuses on expanding our business scope, bringing UbiCare to new markets and honing our messaging. She provides project governance for UbiCare’s new projects, as well as our work with the Department of Defense.

Zalvan has 18 years’ experience in project management, with a distinct focus on educating and communicating through non-traditional media. She has extensive experience in marketing, design and account management with emphasis on strategic planning, cross-functional team collaboration and financial considerations.

She has an MBA from Boston University and a BA from University of Pennsylvania.

Marion Joyce

VP, Operations and Finance

As VP, Operations and Finance, Marion Joyce oversees all operations of UbiCare’s business. With 30 years’ experience in the publishing and communications industry, she is a seasoned professional who brings a proven track record of successful growth with small businesses.

Prior to joining UbiCare, Joyce was Director of Sales for Women’s Business Journal, a monthly publication profiling professional women and their businesses. Previous to that, she served as the General Manager for Parents Plus, Inc., which published the award-winning The Boston Parents’ Paper, Rhode Island Parents’ Paper, Family Paper of Maine and Family Paper of Connecticut. She was also the General Manager for Families Plus, LLC, which produced the ParentingQ&A and LocalMom.com websites. Joyce founded MDJ Associates after starting her career at Design News Magazine, a Cahner’s Publication.

ed marcarelli

Technology Advisor

A business leader with over 25 years of experience and an extensive record of accomplishment in technology, outsourcing and operations, Marcarelli is president of Hydrakos Consulting LLC. He advises firms in financial services and healthcare on IT strategy and governance. He is an executive advisor to UbiCare. 

Marcarelli's prior experience includes over 17 years at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), the last 12 as a Managing Director. Marcarelli performed a leadership role in the Innovation and Product Support Division where he collaborated on innovation initiatives and the firm’s strategy for workforce globalization. He managed a Business Process Outsource operation and supervised BBH’s offshore IT vendors in several locations in India. He spent his first 11 years at Brown Brothers managing application development.

Marcarelli's pre-BBH experience includes stays at Fidelity Investments and The Boston Company (now part of BNY Mellon). 

Marcarelli has a Master of Science Degree in Urban Studies and a Bachelor of Science Degree in History Education, both from Southern Connecticut State University.
